Mindy Bridges is an assistant professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Broadly, her research interests include the connection between language and reading development and disorders. Dr. Bridges currently is a Co-Investigator of a large NICHD-funded grant examining reading comprehension in upper elementary students and serves as the Principal Investigator of a grant examining reading comprehension in middle school. Dr. Bridges is also a parent of a child with PKU, a rare genetic condition. In addition to her role on the Rare KC board, she is the co-chair of the Rare Patient Family Advisory Council at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
